Oh Yes, as promised, (to Vivian) she wants me to post up my POP Speech.
For god knows what reason. But. I think it's also nice to read it like 10 years down the road.

Good morning distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen. Today marks the end of the journey of the NCO 09-10 batch, and also the first and the last time I would be standing here in my Red Cross Cadet uniform giving a speech. 3 years ago around this period of time, I remember myself standing in the foyer having our own internal Passing out Parade with the mere few volunteer instructors and seniors. Now, we are honored to have the presence of the distinguished guests and various UGs here to grace the event.

Looking back, I have experienced and grown so much throughout the years in Red Cross Youth. When I first started out, I dislike attending trainings and gave many excuses for my absence, but continuous effort was made to make me feel like I was a part of it and I gradually developed passion and commitment for the CCA, and became who I am today.

This may be the end of my journey but the start of many of you, especially the newly enrolled Secondary 1 cadets. The road ahead might seem tough and difficult, but with passion it is enough to keep you going on. All the experiences are priceless and worthy of your effort.

Knowing that you are not alone, it gives you courage to keep continuing. Throughout these years, I have also found myself a group of trusty and reliable friends which are my fellow batch-mates. Without this CCA, I believe that there wouldn’t be such strong bonds between us. We went through so many hardships and joy together, with every experience bringing us closer. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them.

Mendi, you are the best assistant I could ever ask for. I still remember the times when the both of us rushed through proposals even after midnight when we were in Secondary 1. Till today, you have always been very efficient and helpful.

Pearlyn, you were one of my reasons as to staying in this CCA when I felt like giving up. We use to do everything together, and with you as my companion I reminded myself that I have this someone who is going through thick and thin with me.

Shi Hui, you are the one who comes up with the most number of weird ideas and all these never fails to make as laugh. If you still remember the first Art Festivals competition we joined in Secondary 2, you almost made us laugh for half a day.

Vivian, you are really a wonderful friend of mine that have been giving me support all these time. She may seem rowdy and all but can actually be very thoughtful at times. Thank you for always being there for me.

Kewei, without you there wouldn’t be us. You were the one who tried so hard to convince most of us to join Red Cross Youth as our CCA when we were in Secondary 1, hence brought us together.

Last but not least Winny, you are always there to lend us a shoulder. I do remember the times you coming forward to give us a hug when we are down where you show your concern.

To the newly appointed NCOs, the message I am trying to put across is the importance of friendship and how much it makes a difference in our life. Although all of us have our flaws, but this is how we beautifully complement one another.

I wish all of you best of luck and may AMKSS Red Cross Youth strive to greater heights. Thank You
