Tuesday, August 10, 2010 @ 10:40 AM - Junior College or Polytechnic?

Two months ago I sort of decided on Poly. Thinking of the advantages makes me wanna drool..
  • Abundant freedom
  • Lots of social activities (alot of fun la!!!)
  • Attire restrictions quite relax
  • No more common tests and lesser exams
  • Can make alot of friends
  • Variety of food to choose from
  • Fully-equipped facilities
  • No more 5 days school week
  • Schools are damn big
  • Tend to meet more mature students (those older ones; made you feel like a grown up)
  • Teachers won't discipline you like how they do in secondary school
On the other hand, I have currently concluded that my choice shall be JC. Why neh?
Cos
  • Got the benefit of purchasing student meals
  • Lower transportation fees
  • Lesser distractions, more motivations
  • Higher chance of going into University (seeking tertiary education!)
  • I hate projects (those major ones that you often see in poly)
  • Two years onliiiiii lei
  • 'Forced' to exercise, got PE, can keep fit
  • Subjects more of all-rounded (Poly zoom into a specific sector)
  • Regular tests and exams will keep me in track of academics' progress
  • Don't need to worry about what to wear or overdress you see (just uniform)
  • Sometimes poly life can get quite complicated
  • Meals in jc are cheaper cheaper cheaper
Therefore, 12 reasons > 11 reasons so JC shall be my choice. Friends and relatives of older generations persuaded me into going the JC route so I'm convinced after hearing so many pros that I can gain in JC and cons that I will meet in poly. I'm not trying to dong yao anyone's decision into going poly here just stating my choice ah.

Now, which JCs would I consider?

1.

If not,

2.

If really cant get into either,

3.

Its not easy to get into these schools but I shall try. I know my expectations are high. Nevertheless, shall set them as my goals to work towards. Shall see how when I receive that holy sheet of Olevel cert and results.

Current status
  • Watching inception in an hr's time (heard that the movie reviews are really good cant wait to embark on a journey into dreamlands)
  • Cough medicine doesnt seem to work, been with this virus for 2 weeks (someone pls tell me that I'm fine)
  • Supposed to read amaths notes before heading out but well, look at the time
  • Having kobayashi later woohoo~~
School's back after today. Time flies.
