Tuesday, December 7, 2010 @ 4:48 PM - Its not easy

Get straight to the point. 1/7 of my week was spent on a date and the other 6/7 was on training (for my job) and working. Serving in Chinese Banquet is really, not easy at all. Decided that the next time I go to restaurants I'm gonna make things as easy as possible for the servers. Just dont bother them so much cos its just sooooooo tiring and stressful. Okay maybe it's my first time.

I was introduced to work in Chinese Banquet by some agents. Most of my colleagues were foreigners and I had encountered some problems in our communication. Some managers were just so NOT partial and cheeky. Damn youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Mr Ahlibaba. In this industry, there is people from all walks of life. One of the supervisor even offered my 16 yr old friend a cigarette. They were so polite and well-mannered in front of the guests and the moment they entered the kitchen,

Manager: If you dont like to work here then fucking get out of here. I can't tolerate any nonsence behaviour so if you want to misbehave here, fuck you and out you go.
Our faces: O.O

WHUAII SHHO FIERCEX? :X

Dont wanna elaborate on how my partner left me alone to clear everything while he went flirting. Thats my boiling point. I hate people who treat others based on their looks. Got chiobu so? You are so shallow, horny dude.

Not only getting attitude from your tao and unfair judgement from your colleagues, but also from your customers.

Bimbo lady: Why you give me so many bones?
Bimbo lady's friend: Nah I give you my fish.
Me: *smile in guilt and apologises*

That was my first time portioning dishes in this Chinese Banquet and I was not taught anything before that. First day of work. First experience. Bad experience. But a meaningful one.

Moreover, I served guests cocktail for the first time. The approaching strangers part was fun, the getting drinks from the bartender part was new but the breaking glasses of wine part was shit. A chef knocked into me and got me wet. No apology at all. And everyone assumed this first timer here broke the glasses. Is 5.5bucks worth all these injustice? Pui.

My toe nails chipped off, raw wounds exposed, my soles bled and a whole load of lactic acid accumulated. Not to mention investing 60 bucks even before your work starts and all you get after two weeks is just <200bucks. Ten bowls of soup on a hand, hahah, hiong. But still, I learnt alot. Vodka on the rocks, neat whiskey, ni zhi dao shi shen mer ma? Maxi cab sending you to your doorstep in the wee hours of the morning; wooooah say me noob but it was a first time for me. The pros are meeting new friends, acquiring new skills and getting to know more about myself. What I can do and what I can try to do.

From here, I shall move on to another kind of job and serving in a Chinese Banquet definitely doesnt suit me.

Sorry anyway! For the boring post. Bleah
