8:48 PM - Hang Tough
H E L L O G U Y S ! ! !
I know it's been a few weeks since I last posted here. Have been really busy with school, and all sorts of things. I'm not sure if I've told you all about my school's Chrystal Programme before, but 2 weeks back, for our 'Hang Tough' segment, they got Ms Carolyn Lim to give us a talk. It's indeed inspiring. Maybe you can google her to find out more? She was sitting on a wheelchair at the foot of the stage, and it was the first time the entire hall got so quiet. She shared with us her story. She got struck by lightning while windsurfing at ECP, and she got rushed to the Hospital for a neurosurgery immediately. Following which, she went into coma. What's really touching was, her then boyfriend did not leave her. She got married with him a year later after the incident. And she just gave birth late last year! Everyone started crooning when they saw their baby's photos. So... sometimes we really have to get a hang of ourselves and persevere on, because we have not been through the worst yet. That which doesn't kill us, only make us stronger. The rigour of the JC Curriculum is truly something that can't be trifled with. It's seriously nothing like Os. It's okay to study like 2 weeks before O Levels, or perhaps 1 day before the SS Exam (like what I did). But I'll definitely die a horrible death if I do that for A's, or the upcoming Promo's. Speaking of which, is only 52 DAYS away! OMG PANIC AND FREAK OUT. There's so much of practise to do. Besides revising for the past chapters, there are new ones coming up; and everything is so heavy in content! (Esp for Biology). And even more infuriating, even if you have the knowledge for Bio, but once you can't apply to the question/miss out keywords, you're equivalently dead. I really hate to sound so negative, but suddenly everything started to work the opposite way, I have to be pessimistic to push myself further. Somehow, it just works because most of the time when I say I'm dead, I don't really mean I'll be dead, perhaps just warning myself that I'll be REALLY REALLY DEAD if I do. I get so tired everyday when I reach home. (But good news is, CCA's standing down on 12 August! Have also declared break from RCY matters after AMKSS' NDP - still can't help but feel worried... but faith is still there!) I think I'm concerned about my studies and learning for now. Like, even more than I did for O Level Exams? I mean O Level feels so 'insignificant', and I feel like I've not done anything for it like what I'm doing now. After all, JC life is not easy. Imagine having to go through 2 years of turbulence and then at the end of that, receive bad results that can't fetch me into Uni? It's a waste of youth, and I don't want to land myself in that state. 2 YEARS IS ENOUGH, NOT 3. SO I MUST DO WELL FOR PROMOS. REALLY REALLY REALLYYYYYY WANT TO PROMOTE :'( Hope all of you are doing fine! :) Anyway for Chrystal, we're into De-stress Electives now. Just had my first Hypnotherapy Session today. Spooky how our mind works. Xoxo, Mendi Labels: Mendi

11:22 PM - Central Dogma
Hello Peeps! I know it's Wednesday but I'm blogging now instead of Thursday because I doubt I'll be using my laptop tomorrow!
Anyway, Bio students check this out (Non Bio students too): LIKE SERIOUSLY. OUR BODY IS NEVER SHORT OF AMAZING. And I like how the Japanese makes everything so crystal clear, I mean, everything made sense to me when I watch this video but when I'm in lectures or when I stare at my notes I'm like @.@, you get what I mean. HAHA. 4 more days to Mid Year Exams... My mood? Panicking perhaps. I don't really expect much from MYE but of course I'll try all I can to study as much. Apparently, Mid Years are meant to kill; to urge us to wake up, so getting an S grade (subpass) is considered good, according to tradition. Shall not let this bother me, will try my best! There's like so many things to study for Biology, really content heavy and the questions are no longer like O Level questions... A lot of application and I'm scared I'll black out. WHAT'S MORE, my Biology paper's arranged together with Econs paper! Which means there's a lot of content to dig from my database (aka my brain) while attempting the questions! OH! AND YKNOW WHAT, TAEKWONDO NATIONALS ON SATURDAY! AND I'LL DEFINITELY GET A MEDAL NO MATTER WHAT. Hehe yeah, people don't really focus on Nationals, but rather more on the A Division Competition. And for this National TKD Competition... there are only 3 participating teams in my category (1 from HCI and 2 from MJC). LOL, medal guaranteed but best is to win Champion of course! Can boost my SGC! HAHAHA. Nonetheless, me and my team still went for external trainings and arranged for trainings ourselves despite the upcoming Mid Year Exams because we really want to put up our best! Hope I'll come back with good news! The NEXT TIME I BLOG, MYE's over! However, I shall throw in a big 'BUT' here. BUT, after Mid Years there'll be no time to lose - we'll have to start revision for our Promotional Exams in late September - early October! ALL THE BEST TO THOSE WHO ARE TAKING EXAMS/CTs!!! :) World Wide Love, Mendi Labels: Mendi

10:57 PM - Forgetful
Oooops! Nearly forgot that it's Thursday!!! Hahaha.
Actually, there isn't really anything to update about! (because I think I've updated on my own blog on the previous days) and there isn't anything fresh from then. I'm going to spend all the days mugging till next Saturday's Taekwondo Nationals. (Well, I'll be going for an external training on Tuesday night though). I have this feeling like there's so little time left to study and prepare for the upcoming semester, but I've yet to regain my momentum to go into full-swing study mood. OH! And worst still, I actually miscounted, and I only have 5 days of break after the Mid-Years. How bad is that; I have always thought I've got 9 days. Okay, so I spent half the day designing the Dance Tshirt. (So if Hui Min you're reading this, you can give your feedback! Hahaha, I've already sent the design to Jasper). ![]() Hmmm I think it looks good on yellow. Anyway, I found a shirt printer (Yes Winny, the one at Ehub) to print my own customised shirts! YIPPEEEEE HPC SHIRT ANYONE? :) Hope you guys are mugging hard and enjoying your hols at the same time! Love, Mendi Labels: Mendi

9:26 PM - Life's horribly good
Helloooooo peeps! I didn't blog yesterday because we had to prepare gifts for our TKD seniors' farewell followed by Taekwondo chalet! The chalet was fun. (Like omg we booked the chalet RIGHT NEXT to Old Changi Hospital. Super spooky.)
I slept the most throughout the chalet hahaha. The seniors were pretty stressed up with the upcoming A Levels I guess, and they actually went to farm ants. They put an ant together with a bettle and watch them fight. (Before trying to save the bettle again LOL). The scary and amusing part was, two seniors actually tried to scare me and my friend when we were sleeping. There's only both of us in the room, and 1 senior switched off the light, pretending to have left us while the other hid under the bed. (He was searching for baby crying sounds on YouTube). Who knows I got up and pulled the blanket. AND I FREAKING SAW A HEAD OF HAIR AT THE EDGE OF THE BED. Natural reaction: SCREAM LIKE MAD. So HAHAHA He tried to scare us and end up he got freaked out by me instead. LOL. Then in the middle of the night a whole bunch of boys got into the room and started playing 'I'm yours by Jason Mraz' with their guitars to wake us up. BUT. I still continued to sleep. (Though I insist that I was 'closing my eyes only') It felt kind of surreal when I got home to see my Dad lying in the master bedroom when I just spoke to him via Skype before the chalet. Hahaha. Anyway, he's leaving for Vietnam for a month tomorrow! And I have to go help out for Unit Officers' Programme. I really have not been touching my books. (Well, the first week of holidays were spend on UNPRODUCTIVE LECTURES). Now that I'm left with only 2 weeks, I really have to rush like mad. (Nearly 30 chapters to study - and each is like OMG?). To make it worse, there's TKD Nationals and Class Chalet coming up. (I only feel like attending Class BBQ actually... hais I don't know what to do because it's kind of bad... Unless I bring my books along to mug amidst all the distractions). I'M REALLY EXHAUSTED AND IT JUST FEELS LIKE THERE'S A MILLION THINGS TO DO ALL THE TIME. I FEEL SO SCREWED UP NOW. LIKE SCREWED UP BIG TIME. :'( I shall bring some homework to campsite tomorrow... to see if I'll be able to complete any. Not going to stay over. Helping out as F&B IC and doing what I'm good at best - food selections. Haha pray/hope everything goes on smoothly! I want to revise at least 3 chapters a day. MUST. GOODNIGHT, LOVE YOU! :) Signing off, Mendi Almighty Ang Labels: Mendi

3:39 PM - You spin my head right round, right round
Sorry for not blogging on time again!!!! This has been a really, really hectic week. And yes, it's over! Ummm it wasn't really hectic and stressful; but rather hectic with essence of fun at the same time, just that I've not been getting enough sleep.
Glad I did today. Today's off-day for my college! It was declared off because the CCAs did damn well and clinched many awards; and Ms Lai (My Principal) treated the entire college potong icecream. (Damn funny cos it's based on integrity because they just left the freezer outside the General Office - and some of my classmates pon school so we were like 'Never mind, help them eat!' so can take another one ahahah) GP Exam's on Monday. I'm kind of scared because I've not been paying attention in lessons. AHHHHHHH. After GP Exam the whole cohort is going to various destinations for National Education and we'll all meet at Suntec City Eng Wah Cinema to catch Kungfu Panda 2! Looking forward to it! Yesterday didn't feel like the last day of school, like duh. Because there's GP Exam plus a week full of holiday lectures and make-up tutorials next week. I can feel my head spinning at the thought of it. Have to rush out my EoMs for PW now after being so slack on my studies these days. p/s: POP's on 3 JUNE (FRIDAY) MORNING! 9:26 PM - Life's a BLAST
Blogging from my iPhone for the 1st time. Am so dead tired. Spent 14 hrs in school. 9 hours of lessons; 1.5 hours of break; 3.5 hours of Taekwondo and Cheerleading Practice. The next few days will get even busier, but June Hols' creeping in! I have GP MYE on 30 May! And I received my exam schedule already. It feels quite slack, but of course it's not as easy as it seems. I'll only have to go back to school for 3 days after school reopens for Exams then it'll be another 9 days of break! Biology Exam's together with Econs! Gosh. Anyway I've decided to take part in all 3 categories (Individual, Pair and Team) for Taekwondo Nationals. It's for the same belt pattern though, so it's like doing the same thing for all the categories; but I have a lot to refine for my moves. National's on the last weekend of school hols i.e both 2 days before H2 Math Exam. So I'll have to revise doubly hard once school hols starts. I know it's gonna be tough because holiday lectures, TKD trainings and my RCY commitments may exhaust me. But I'll do my best to cope!!!

9:51 AM - Death March
Oooops! I wanted to blog but blogger was down!!!
Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed by all the things that are happening in my life. I kind of enjoy it, like making more friends, having fun while doing all those stuffs. But it feels like I've lost my sense of direction. Like, I'm no longer steered towards studying. That really shouldn't be the case; at least I realised that and I can change! For the past week I've been falling asleep unknowingly. Tried to continue doing my schoolwork after reaching home at 8 plus or 9 plus at night, and the next time I saw my fingers, I was awake in my snuggly bed - time for school. This vicious cycle will just keep continuing until I take action. So yeah, I must manage my time better! Yesterday I went to Red Cross HQ for the VI Workshop on Exploring Humanitarian Law. It's really interesting. After that we went to Just Acia for dinner. That explains why I feel asleep unknowingly again hahaha lol. Anyway, I was pretty amused by this: http://soshiok.com/article/15400 Like omg right! The rat can totally fight with a cat. (And its tail is super thick :O) Hehehe anyway; if you all are still racking your brains on what birthday present to get for me, I shall just tell you what I need the most. Okay I need a white colour buttoned-collared shirt (Like the one that I wear for Students' Council). But with shorter sleeves (somewhere around my elbow) And! I want it with a fold around the elbow area and a buttton that can keep it there. Hais okay I know I'm very troublesome but you get my drift. It's okay if you've already bought a present/didn't manage to get it though. I need it because my old sleeved shirt is getting softer and makes me look very sloppy. May need it again for RCY stuffs next time so yeah. :) Jiayou people! Xoxo, Mendi Almighty Ang Labels: Mendi

9:47 PM -
Hello my fellow HPCians!!!!!!!
I had a track workshop after school today! It was quite fun, like doing relays and learning about the starting blocks. It's to prepare us for Colosseum. I'm participating in the 4 x 100 m relay. Hopefully we can win something for the house! Cheerleading for Colosseum is getting interesting too. Stacking up is banned for my school because someone had a really serious broken limb a few years ago due to a fall. So the 'cheerleading' is more like a mass dance of 30 people per house. There's a remix of 8 songs to learn, and the sports event is on 25 May! Which means - more trainings for the upcoming weeks! Got to bond better with my classmates and can you imagine us walking and randomly doing some dance moves? And shufflin'! It's like when the Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO is being played on the loudspeakers, everyone will start shuffling. Like cool ttm. Now I still have to practice my side shufflin in circles. After the track workshop, I jumped over the school railing for TKD training. My school's stadium and field are free for the public's usage, so at night we always have some foreigners (aka angmohs) coming into our school to play soccer. (Quite cool, it's like watching live telecast on TV). So they'll lock up all the gateways leading to the stadium, so I got locked out of the main school compound LOL. When I went to training with my friend, the rest of my team mates were told to do 100 half-squats in a circle! It reminded me of circle pumping, especially when we had to shout out each count. I seriously think it's a good exercise to build up team spirit. Miss those good O' UG days~ :') Oh yes, and National deadline for PI's postponed to next Tuesday due to General Elections = more time to make my PI better! And I know my grouping already! Those in my group are hardworking ones! Actually, I think all my classmates are good. HAHAHAHAHA. And :'( my 4/5 class outing's this Saturday, like from morning till night. No worries, HPC dinner still holds priority! I may not be able to join them for the outing at all.... sigh. HAHAHAHA ANW I'M LIKE ONLY GOING TO SCHOOL FOR 2 LESSONS TOMORROW. Cos' my school's the polling station and we have to evacuate by 1 pm for preparations. Yknow they had all the notice boards in the school sealed up and even the CCTV cameras are wrapped for the GE. So... First 2 period's chinese, I'll be stoning first (This happens every Friday morning and I still have to go to school early just for assembly T.T), but I'll be refining my PI during those periods tomorrow. See you all on race day!!! MUACKS! Mendi Almighty Ang signing off. Labels: Mendi

6:04 PM - Exhaustion
Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm really really tired now. Words can't express how I feel. Even "so drained of every bit of my energy" can't.
I have lots of things to complete but here's a rather lengthy one! So if you've read my blog, you would've known how sad I am about my NAPFA results. I went to plead my teacher just today to let me retake my standing broad jump again but I was rejected... Hais. Anyway... I had 2.4 km run today and I wore a super ugly kind of sports shoes which I found on the shoerack at home (Should've been arrested for fashion crime). Guess what... Halfway through the first run, the sole of my left shoe came off. LOL. And I totally went "Oh shit my sole my sole!" Those running beside me were trying hard not to burst out laughing in the midst of the run. So embarassing lol. My ankle hurt a little but I carried on to run for all 6 rounds, coming in 4th within 2 classes on the same session. And yes, an A again! I really can't stop pitying myself for the D in standing broad jump. But yeah, it's over. Gotta face it. After the run, my friend helped me to pick up my sole from the track. Lol. The sole of the other shoe was coming off too, so I just tore it off. After a few lessons, the 2nd layer of the soles started to peel off as well. HAHAHAHA OMG THAT PAIR OF SHOES IS SUPER LOUSY. Oh, and cheerleading training's fun. I learnt how to shuffle! Hahahaha everyday I'm shufflin'! Have to practise on my side shuffle and circle shuffle because I only know how to do the front. And my brother actually knows how to back shuffle! I'll try it once my ankle recovers fully! Now I've to rush out my PI! The only good thing is, my idea was approved the moment I thought of it. So the major changes are in the expression of the content. I did 18 pages lol like omg right. (It's like doing the groupwork part already - that is if my PI was chosen but I guess not since people always come up with a new one as a group). My school is set as the polling station for the General Elections, so the school will close right after lessons next Friday; so we were instructed to hand in our PI earlier, before 6 pm on the 5th of May. I think we're still considered lucky because some other JCs were already told to hand in their PIs like weeks before. (Hmmmm on second thoughts they may be lucky too, who knows their school may have helped them to edit the PIs OKAY I'M SO MEAN!) I hope the Poly kids aren't feeling the stress yet! See you all soon! 11:51 PM - Tired
No, no, I didn't forget to blog! I've been so busy these few days and next few days will be busy too! (For RCY stuffs). Saturday's World Red Cross Day, and tomorrow I'll have to rehearse the mass dance at RI and prepare things for my decorations. (Balloon flowers). And Sunday will be my first Ops Teams 1 Outing!
Oh, an important note: POP's on 21st May, and 20th May will be a half-day training for it. The date was decided due to restrictions from the school, so yeah. How time flies. We've stepped down for like nearly a year already? But it didn't feel like so much has gone all these while. It felt like we just stepped down recently. NAPFA is coming up for me next week! During the trial run, I stopped after 4 rounds because my ankle hurt. Actually it's still swollen, but I've used up my medical excuse anyway. I hope I'll be able to endure through the actual run! I realised that this year I'm more sporty. Hahaha I don't know how to describe but I seem to be doing more physical training than usual, and signing up for more sports events during the annual sports meet; and of course, NIKE Goddess 5K Run! So excited to get the shirt! HAHAHA. Okay... Just now the teachers treated the Unit (excluding the Sec 1s), and the VIs to Swensens at NEX. I wasn't able to make it at first. My lessons ended at 5.05 pm and I had the Tug-O-War trial within the house to choose the best team for the competition during the sports meet. And guess what, the only 2 teams that signed up are from my class. My group got owned flat though! Hahaha. Either way, my class will represent Miranda in the Tug-O-War event. There wasn't Taekwondo training today; so I went down to NEX (first time!) in the end to join the Unit Dinner. (Partly because the bus home from school goes to Serangoon Interchange! HAHA). I didn't want the teachers to spend so much money on us, so I didn't order anything. Ma'am Cx and I ended up buying bread at BreadTalk to eat because we were hungry! After the dinner, Alvin Sir, Ma'am Cx and I went to walk around the mall for a while. We went into Pets Safari and the animals in there are really cute! For example: ![]() This. It's a guinea pig categorised at 'skinny pig'. It's hair wasn't shaved or sorts, but rather, they are born with it's fur around it's head area. Soooooo cute right! Now I know why it's called guinea "PIG". Wish I can own a pet too :( Okay I'm tired with so many things on hand right now! Goodnight peeps! Till then xx Labels: Mendi

8:03 PM - The Processionary Caterpillars of Life
Hi guyssssssss! I know I didn't blog last week! Was too busy to blog much (though I know I updated my blog hahaha). Okay I have an Econs test tomorrow so I won't go too much into my recent life since I'll meet you guys soon anyway! (Except for Kewei; but JYJY for SC Camp k!)
This Wednesday, the JC1s had the first Principal's talk. I do feel motivated by Ms Lai, after hearing all her stories. (Some seniors think she's propaganda-ish though; but I really like her). Every Thursday we have this thing called the Chrystal Lesson (takes up 1 period). It's a motivational programme set up by the school. These few weeks have been on Personal Vision - the importance of setting compelling goals. I came to realise that my school really values goal-setting a lot. Of course, it is important. Today we had a youth motivator to talk to us. He mentioned about a case study on the processionary caterpillar.... ![]() The noted French naturalist, Jean Henri Fabre`, studied this unique little furry insect in great detail. What makes this caterpillar special is its instinct to follow in lock step the caterpillar in front of it. This behavior, not only gives the caterpillar its name, but a deadly characteristic also. Fabre` demonstrated this unusual behavior with a simple experiment. He took a flowerpot and placed a number of caterpillars in single-file around the circumference of the pot’s rim. Each caterpillar's head touched the caterpillar in front of it.Fabre` then placed the caterpillars' favorite food in the middle of the circle created by the caterpillars’ procession around the rim of the flowerpot. Each caterpillar followed the one ahead thinking that it was heading for the food. Round and round went those silly insects--for seven days! After a week of this mindless activity, the caterpillars started to drop dead because of exhaustion and starvation. All that they had to do to avoid death was to stop the senseless circling of the flower pot and head directly toward the food—less than six inches away from those ever-circling crawlers. However, the processionary caterpillars were locked into this lifestyle and couldn’t extricate themselves from this mindless behavior. Human beings are different from caterpillars. We alone have the ability to change our direction in life. Or do we? We often confuse motion with meaning and activity with achievement. We can all too readily get into ruts, which cause us to dysfunction at work, school, or home. The ruts can become vicious circles, which don’t get us any further than the processionary caterpillar gets on the flowerpot. Then we find ourselves resembling the processionary caterpillar more than we would first think or want. Source:http://www.wolverton-mountain.com/articles/caterpillars.htm Yeah, so having a dream is important. But what do you really want in life? Sometimes we don't really know what we want, and just like the caterpillars, we often go around in circles thinking that we are on the right track because we have a dream (even if it isn't realistic). Setting a compelling vision is important. Like wanting to make a big difference to the society; helping the needy folks - with a bigger goal in life, we can set intermediate goals to compel ourselves towards our destination. Having a direction doesn't mean having a destination. Just like us being in a JC or a Poly. We probably think that we'll lead a better life in terms of affluence, and money because with a good education background, we'll get a good job; but such goals aren't really compelling enough. (Well unless we are really desperate for money). We see studying as a direction to earning big bucks. At the end of the day, will we really achieve what we want? Answer is maybe. That is if we work towards our goal - a specific and powerful goal. We have to craft it out. We need it to drive us forth. I'm in a JC. My ultimate aim is to clinch all those As in my A Level. Sometimes I get really afraid that I will slacken when exams are near, but this always ring in my head (partly because the teachers in MJC often stress on it): If I want to get into a JC in the first place, I'd better work hard to make sure I get into University. You see, if you don't work hard enough to get into Uni, it's as good as you wasting 2 years of your life away only to get enrolled into a Polytechnic (another 3 years to your education), or probably drop out of school to get into the workforce - with only your ugly A Level results. (Hahaha sorry I sound so harsh I think? But this is in the form of self-talk). Hmmm for the Poly people who just started school, WORK HARD. For those in JC, WORK EVEN HARDER. WE CAN DO THIS - TOGETHER! Once the hard life is over, the remaining journey will be a breeze. Apologies for being so long-winded! Got to study for my Econs test now. See you all tomorrow! :) EXCITED! Labels: Mendi

2:19 AM - Delayed post!
Sorry for not blogging on Thursday! As I mentioned, Thursday is the most hectic day of the week for me, so it's gonna be quite hard for me to complete a full post on the day itself.
The week ended quite soon. It's hard to believe that we're going into Week 3. Like, you see; a quarter of the year is over already. And time will continue to tick by as quickly as it is right now. It's oxymoron. Each day seem so long but before you know it, you've been through the same kind of life for a week - and then it'll be weeks - followed by months - followed by 2 years. Poof. That's it. Alright, so on Thursday, my lessons end at 5.05 pm. Met the other Taekwondo team mates at 5.15 pm and headed to Temasek Polytechnic for training (Oh btw I designed the new TKD shirt! Not very nice though but the rest seem okay with it). We trained till about 8.30 pm. TP is quite inaccessible to my house. Had to switch buses, and the waiting time for my buses at night is always long. I reached home at 10 pm. After bathing, I just can't seem to think of anything else other than to check my emails and fall asleep unknowingly till the next morning. (This explains why I didn't blog!) On Friday, I went back to AMKSS. Finally saw Shiauwie after so long! (She's really tanned now after going to Maldives). We went for dinner at AMK Hub's foodcourt before Jun Hao, Kareen and Joel joined us. We then walked back to AMKSS again and chatted in the Student Council Room. (Jun Hao and Kareen stayed on for the SC EXCO Camp). I couldn't stay because I just recovered/am still sick. Met up the next morning (which is Saturday) at 10 am for AJC's Family Day. It was a really great get together. Furthermore, I can find Jia Yi and Jia Li (my primary school bestfriends are there too); so it's like killing two birds with one stone? Hahahaha. Oh, I saw Vivian's cousin LOL. I was walking pass some corridor; and I thought I saw someone familiar. The person kept looking at me. So I went 'Oh? Are you Vivian's cousin?' And she nodded and we said hi. Hahaha so shocked that she remembers me. Went to Pepperlunch with my 4/5 classmates (like around 12 of us I think); some left/couldn't go. Anw, more than 1/4 of my classmates are in AJC. Lol! Nonetheless, we had great chats; and I really missed the times we spent together as a class. Hais. Really miss 4/5 2010!!! (Not trying to be 'classist' hahaha) We totally walked, chatted and can't-bear-to-part till 8 plus going 9 pm please! I feel like I'll be thrown into a period of depression. Like after meeting you guys 2 Fridays back, I can't help but feel like I'm about to sink into somewhere unknown with a spirit of nothingness. But I reckon that I'll still meet up with majority of them at the CUG Ceremony and Alumni Dinner on 15 April. That's the only thing that makes me feel a slight tinge of positive. I'm having Taekwondo grading tomorrow! Wish me luck! My ankle hasn't really recovered yet, but I'm lucky that the pattern I'll be doing doesn't involve much kicks. Hahaha, it felt so long since I last ran! I felt like I could fly during PE lesson. I ran a total of 3.2 km with my still-injured ankle on Thursday. Yes I know... I will take care of myself so no worries! (I know all of you are frowning now ahahahaha -imagines-) The grading will take up half of my day. This will mean... No time for homework. (And thus explains why I'm up at this hour trying to rush out everything by tomorrow morning). Well, sacrifices will always have to be made! I shall burn out some sleep for more of such gatherings in the future!!! It's difficult to plan common meeting dates due to different schedules and stuff; so let's savour every moment we spend together next time while it lasts! Long live HPC! Labels: Mendi

7:46 PM - Bad, bad week
Hellooooooooooo!!! It's Thursday again. This day will be the most tiring day of the week for me; With lessons ending at 5.05 pm, and CCA starting at 5.30 pm, and ends at 8, or sometimes 8.15 pm.
Today they went to Temasek Poly to train again. But I didn't need to because I sprained my ankle. Hais. This week is really not my week. The term started with a bad school day. (You can go read my blog if not I'll be like typing the same thing here HAHA). Anyway, I've been eating a lot of medication lately; oh and health supplements too. Every morning, I eat 2 soft gels of Omega dietary supplment, and 1 soft gel of royal jelly. Well, I enjoy eating those though... because they're nice to chew on. But, can you imagine me like, eating/drinking an addition of 4 pills and cough syrup?! Yeah... It's that bad. For 1 tablet of painkiller, I must eat 2 other tablets to help reduce the effect of the painkiller. And I'm down with flu, yes a cold (I sound very nasal now and I hate it...), as if my persistent cough wasn't enough. I hope that after this week, I'll grow to be a stronger person (perhaps both mentally and in immunity). Well, all I can say is that, it's better to have all these attacking me at one go, rather than have them devour me slowly one at a time. On a side note, I'm glad that I returned to school on Wednesday despite the MC. There are like so many new tutorial notes and what not to collect. This week, I've spent like $35 or so on notes, files, and ten year series. Oh wow. I'm really behind time on my school work. Or so I think. I want to be at least 1 tutorial ahead so that I can spend usual school days on revision! I'll have the whole of this coming weekend on studies! C'MON I CAN DO THIS. See you all soon! (I know we will meet, like really soon hahaha). WORLD WIDE LOVE, MENDI Labels: Mendi

1:01 PM - Time is ticking
Like Dajie, I forgot that yesterday was Thursday, so I didn't blog! Hais. Anyway I'm like emokid_1994 now because I've to miss my first CG outing because I'm sick.
It sucks. My cough is so bad I can roll on my bed or cough till I cry. Each time I cough I can feel my stomache contracting, as though I'm going to cough out my entire two lungs as well. Maybe I deserved it. Serves me right for eating so much of Kinder Bueno. I'm not sure if it links, but my Mom says it does. So... tomorrow's First Aid Competition. I really wish I'll get better by then because I NEED my voice back. I realised how important my voice is to me, and I doubt I can cope if I am to become a mute later in life. I'm currently left with my Econs Project Powerpoint Presentation and a bit of my Biology Project; with a hill of assignments. Let's see: - 11 Econs questions - 5 Chemistry questions (which is not that simple at all) - 3 Biology Tutorial questions - Revise on Biological Molecules and Cellular Functions for Monday's test (2 chapters but it's seriously heavy in content - I SWEAR) - Revise on Economics Central Economic Problem and Market, Demand & Supply - Start on Math Tutorial Graphing Techniques (II) - Complete previous tutorials (which I've lagged back on) Okay I realised that I really have so much to do, and I'm technically left with only 2 days. I can do this. ![]() See you all tomorrow! :) Xoxo, Mendi Labels: Mendi

11:30 PM - Life...
Sorry for not blogging! (decided to play cheat a bit by switching the date and time hehehe.) This has been a busy and fulfulling week. And yes, it's the March Hols. Time to get a well-deserved break.
Yknow what. The last time I really went out was the day I had steamboat with you guys at Liang Seah Street, and the time I went with Wongsy for the so-called photoshoot. I feel quite deprived. But well, I'm only in my first year of JC life and I guess things are going to get worse. Hais. Sometimes I really don't want to think about all the work I have to do anymore. I know I sound super pessimistic. But RIGHT, I'M NOT! I seldom grumble about schoolwork, so ranting about them once in a while can only signal that I'm NORMAL. On Thursday (which is actually yesterday), I went to Temasek Poly's Sports Complex for Taekwondo training. We got to try out on the blue mat. And we kept practising our 1st and 2nd pattern. 1st pattern is for the grading, and the 2nd's for Nationals. (which will come after June, probably after Mid-Years). Went to eat with my team mates at Tampines Century Square after that. Reached home at 11 pm. Wanted to blog, but guess what, I left my table light, laptop, and room light on. Lol. LOL I FAILED MY ECONS TEST QUITE BADLY. But nevermind, I don't really feel bad since the highest mark in my class also failed. Lol. And I didn't really mug for it. Merely read through. I must make full use of my Hols to study already. Esp for the Bio test on the Monday straight after that. Okay, after saying so much, I think I need some retail therapy. Besides the fact that I have no $, I conclude that seeing nice clothes make me happy and I tend to look forward in life so much more (Like apparels can work miracles!) On the other hand, even if I buy them, I won't be able to wear them anytime soon. Or I should say, I won't be able to wear them AT ALL, maybe until June Hols. HAHAHA SAD LIFE. I'm looking forward to AMKsian Family Day tomorrow. Although, the idea of a dragonboat race makes me feel like OMG-AM-I-GONNA-DO-THIS. I can feel lactic acid on my arm muscles now. So, WHO WANTS TO GO OUT WITH ME??? ^^ -hints Dajie (since you keep saying you want to spend more time with friends HAHA)- Labels: Mendi

9:05 PM - Eventful Week
Econs test tomorrow! Gotta study!
-edited- Hahaha sorry for blogging this late! The past week has been rather eventful and busy: Monday - Taekwondo training. I finally remembered my 1st pattern needed for the grading! Hahaha. I think TKD is kind of fun. Probably it'll evolve into my 2nd passion! (I think I look cute in my TKD attire hehehe) Tuesday - Went back to AMKSS for Weekly Training. Got to know some of the Sec Ones. There were 9 of them! 1 was absent because she's still in the process of transferring in. I'm so happy, I think all of you are too! Wednesday - It's Taekwondo Orientation! I got to make a lot of new friends, and bonded with some seniors and team mates. We had a waterbomb session in the field, followed by a 'picnic' in the end. There was this super rough game. It's called the circle game. I almost died! We had to sit down in a circle with our hands and legs tangled-up real tightly as a group. Then, the opponent team will try to pull you out of the circle. I finally figured out the wrath of girls. My whole hair got caught up and I was trying desperately to cling on to my group mates for hellsake. Hahaha. It was indeed physically and mentally bonding! After the entire orientation, some of us headed to Elias Mall (didn't know it existed), somewhere near school for dinner. Chatted, drank and ate. It reminded me of us! Like, how we used to gather at the bubbletea shop after RCY trainings! Me and my friends needed the toilet so bad, so much that we settled at ESSO (petrol station) to pee! We had to use the Gents' toilet because the Ladies' was locked. Hahahaha and this uncle came in and saw us. He was like mad shocked and he immediately went out to check the signboard! Funny and awkward max! Reached home at 10 pm. (Fell asleep soon after, super tired). Oh, and a week or 2 before this, my Principal gave an announcement during Morning Assembly. She says that she finds it silly when students travel all the way from school to IKEA during curriculum time's breaks (only 10 minutes actually) just to get an IKEA HOTDOG, so she says if we're really craving/dying for IKEA HOTDOGS, she can bring them in for sale to satisfy us. Immediately the following week, which is this Wednesday, the 8th Student Council initiated the sale of IKEA HOTDOGS. I find it cool and hilarious at the same time! Thursday - Taekwondo training. Learnt the second pattern! This pattern is needed for the competition. The trial's on the coming Monday. Am not very hopeful to get selected, but still, I'll try my best! Yknow every training, we had to split our legs during warm-ups. It was awfully painful. (I think I may be able to really split after 2 years). Returned home and had to study for Econs consolidation exercise (hahaha but I think I still didn't do well) Friday - Stayed back in school to practice my Taekwondo patterns in an empty section of the school (with a big mirror) with my team mates. I think it's the Wushu area. While practising, we were in fact waiting for the A Level results to be released! I find it amusing when all the JC2s had to go to the lecture theatre for a 'Live Telecast' of what's happening in the Hall. I mean, it's like so high-tech right! So, some of the JC1s went to view the release of results. I've never seen anything like it before. When the names of the students were called, the entire hall cheered and clapped as though MJC's Soccer Team just scored a goal in a tournament. The girls who came in dresses, ran up to the stage and the boys looked like they were doing a homerun or sorts. Some boys turned up in their army uniform and botak heads! Cool. I feel really proud of their achievements. And I wonder if I'll get to go up 2 years later. Nonetheless, some were weeping with tears of sorrow, and some were crying out of joy all the same. There were quite a handful of people with 3 or 4 distinctions (A) for their H2 subjects, and there were many perfect scorers! (meaning they actually scored all As in EVERYTHING). Straights As. Hmmm I hope I'll be like them. But well, I will be satisfied with 3 distinctions for my H2 subjects. :) After that, I went back to AMKSS for FAC training. I was just wondering if you all will be interested in coming down on the Finals on 19 March? It's at Citysquare Mall. (Yes, in public!). We can have dinner together after the Competition! Sounds awesome?! Saturday - College Road Race at Pasir Ris Park, early in the morning! I wore my super big, fat and bulky sports shoes for the run. I participated in the 3.3 km Girls' Competitive Race. Came in 43rd out of 300. Not that good, because I walked a bit during the race. Stomach cramps out of the blue! But still, people say that 43 is not bad for a JC1. I shall try harder next year! My house (Miranda) came in first for the Girls' Competitive Race though! We got 3rd in the overall event. I think the mascot of Atlas is super on. He's a guy, and they put on makeup for him, made him wear a dress with fake boobs stuffed inside, plus he had to wear a blonde wig. Super spontaneous please. We couldn't stop laughing when he went up to stage and use his fake hair to swing in circles. Went to Popeyes at Downtown East with my classmates for lunch after that. It's the 2nd time I'm eating Popeyes, after the first with you all at Jubilee's branch. Came home and slept like there's no tomorrow. Feel so drained of my energy. Sunday (now) - So much to do, so little time. I've quite a lot of catching up to do. Next Saturday, I'm participating in AMKsian Family Day's Alumni Dragonboat Race at Bedok Reservoir Park! My life has been indeed eventful of late. Sometimes, I really feel like I've been doing a lot for a week, so much that it felt like months have passed. Yet, time also seems to pass by very quickly. It's like, weeks passing by in the blink of an eye. And what?! It's the March Holidays after next week??? Oh wow. Then MYE's like in June - July, with the Promotional Exams creeping in late September. I feel that JC stuffs are indeed heavy in content. Especially for Bio. 1 chapter consists of 2 thick notes and so much to remember. Tell me your response on FAC Finals! Try to come! Miss and love you all! Xoxo, Mendi Almighty Ang Labels: Mendi

9:24 PM -
Hey all! I just returned from Taekwondo training an hour ago. This whole week has been pretty exhausting. Physical Education in JC is really different from Secondary school. PE Lessons used to be 2 rounds around the school or chit chat sessions with friends. Now it's like, just running.
We're preparing for the College Road Race next week, and I'm taking part in the Competitive race (3.3 km I think). These runs are also to build up our stamina for NAFA. But yknow, it's really insane. I've never ran so much in a week before. On Monday's PE lesson, we ran 2 rounds around the stadium and 2 rounds around college, that's around 2.6 km. For today's PE lesson, we ran 1 round around the stadium and 3 rounds around college. That's 3.1 km I think. (Just imagine having to do these rounds every week). The runs make us all real tired during lessons. For TKD today, I ran again, but this time around the stairs in the school compound. I guess I've ran 7 km in total this week? Sounds like nuts really. On the bright side, I think it helps to burn off calories, but at the same time I really wish I don't get bulky leg muscles out of all these. Anyway, I've got my TKD uniform. It's called the 'gi'. So I'm a white belt now. Next month's grading, and if I pass, it'll be white belt with yellow tip. We practised patterns today and I hope to train up on my flexibility! Our coach is also addressed as 'Sir'. Hahaha. I'm tired from all those physical activities, but I'll still have to hang on to complete my homework and stuffs. By the way, FAC's Preliminary Round is held on this Saturday! I'll have to go to Evergreen Secondary School tmr for the preparations. And yeah, after Preliminary Round, in the afternoon, it'll be my Passing Out Ceremony! (Not the official one with the VI uniform though. It's just a simple ceremony first). Okay I think there are a lot of grammatical errors and what not, but I have no time to check! See you all soon! Xoxo, Mendi Almighty Ang Labels: Mendi

Maybe I'll organise a room-coming event for HPC! HAHAHAHAHA. Okay goodnight. (Really apologetic for this real short and brief post). Labels: Mendi

9:18 PM - Just a quickie!
Okay, so I've taken an oath. An oath to submit my CCA Application by Valentine's Day 12 midnight. Hahaha I think our school's teacher are really funny. They like to entertain themselves (oops) but yeah they do have many tricks up their sleeves to keep us engaged. So all those who have a date (the Cinderella) must tell their bf/gf: 'Sorry! I have to reach home by 12 mn to submit my CCA Application!' HAHAHA OKAY LAME. DOTS WHATEVER. He got us to raise our right palms to recite the oath after him. HAHAHA.
Hmm... So I went for many trials. And I'm interested in: Squash, Photography, Guitar Ensemble, Rock Climbing, ODAC and Taekwando. (Actually there's more) Nonetheless there are many considerations... Like, I've an external CCA. Oh, and apparently we've to take in an internal CCA as well, and it should be placed in a higher priority than the external CCA. Hais. BRAINRACK. Alright I don't have time to blog much. Just returned home 2 hrs ago from Taekwando trial. Goodnighttttt! JC life is so getting into me. Labels: Mendi

12:05 AM - HPC FTW
Alright peeps. I'm gonna do up a better post today to compensate for my lack of blogging beans the past weeks. (Let the pictures do the talking :P) So much has been happening for me lately, my mood has been erratic as well. Oh well, tmr's Day 2 of Sec One Orientation Camp!
I'm going to help out as OGL for 1A with Wongsy. I've already spent 10 bux on sweets for the kiddos. Oh yes and after that I'll have to go to HQ for Uniform Measurement... Then it's Footdrill Accred on Saturday! I really had a great time with you guys at Aranda Country Club! We ate condoms (lol), had our first midnight movie Burslesque, ate at Fish&co Express together for the first time, drank Bacardi Breezer by smashing off the top, and so many more! Of course, this is not the end! There'll be more fun things to come because we'll be friends forever TILL WE DIE! Hahaha sorry I really can't be bothered to type in fabulous English or mind my words anymore I'm so tired though I want to make this good! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() HPC FTW!
